Extra Terrestrials Tee Design by glenbrogan.

Extra Terrestrials Tee Design Review.

The Extra Terrestrials tee design is for fans of all the important pop culture aliens.

The concept for the Extra Terrestrials tee is a parody of the famous E.T. bike and moon scene. It not only includes E.T. but it features; Kang or Kodos from The Simpsons, an infant Metroid, Marvin the Martian, ALF, Spock from Star Trek, Yoda from Star Wars, Nibbler from Futurama, an Invader from Space Invaders, the Xenomorphs Grid from Alien, and The Great Gazoo from The Flintstones. And Let's not forget the panicked Elliot.

As for the artwork, it is all silhouettes with white eyes and minor forced Pink highlights for definition. The illustration is simple and it is easy to make out the details.

The Extra Terrestrials tee with many great franchises from various decades together in one design is a must have shirt for any Sci-Fi fan.

This is a great pop culture shirt that fits in anywhere.

Mr. Meeseeks Pulp Fiction Tee Design by bovaart.

Mr. Meeseeks Pulp Fiction Tee Design Review.

The Mr. Meeseeks Pulp Fiction tee design is for Rick and Morty and Pulp Fiction fans.

Pulp Fiction

The concept for this mash up is oddly appropriate. The Pulp Fiction characters of Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield (seen above) are replaced by Mr. Meeseeks x 2. And rather than referring to Brett they refer to Jerry who is just as annoying to them as Brett was to Jules. It blends the 90's with the present in such a way that anyone who hasn't seen Pulp Fiction will do so just to understand this design. That's the power of Rick and Morty.

As for the artwork, this one gives both of the Mr. Meeseeks Pulp hairstyles. The color is nice for the most part, not all Pulp Fiction Parodies featuring this scene have color but it works. The font used for the text is a bit difficult to read, at least the stroke around the font makes its so. Which is a shame because the line "Say What again, Jerry" is what makes this mash up and gag work. So points are deducted as a result.

While this is the Pulp Fiction pose it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

Flying Solo Tee Design by oakenspirit.

Flying Solo Tee Design Review.

The Flying Solo tee design is for the Star Wars and The Legend Of Zelda fans.

The concept for the Flying Solo tee is actually very funny. It is a parody of The Legend of Zelda "It's dangerous to go alone take this." (shown below) where Han Solo holds up Chewbacca like Link holds up his sword. It is goofy as Hell but it is true to a point. Han needs the wookie. Chewbacca has always had Han's back and fans could argue that Han wouldn't last solo.

Alone Take This. Screen Shot.

As for the artwork, it is very simple and pixelated in the same style as the original NES game. The colors are good for what it is. Although choosing a contrasting background that shows both the characters and the font well without losing body parts into obscurity is a bit daunting. Some scenery would had improved this some, to be more like the Legend of Zelda screen shot.

The Flying Solo is for all Link and Han fans regardless of age. It doesn't get any more old school than this.

Tis But A Scratch Tee Design by Naolito.

Tis But A Scratch Tee Design Review.

The Tis But A Scratch tee design is for the Star Wars and Monty Python's The Search For The Holy Grail fans.

The concept for the Tis But A Scratch tee is that Luke Skywalker and the Black Knight are face to face bleeding out. Luke is all panicked as the Black Knight casually blows off Luke's injury as a mere scratch.

As for the artwork, the colors look great. The shading is a bit tricky and is forced rather than a natural angle. Experienced illustrators and cartoonists can get by with this in cartoons and still have it look right. It is very tricky to do. Naolito did it so well that most people will not notice.

This Tis But A Scratch tee is more for the geeks who can't get enough of the 70's movies. Wear this tee to any pop culture event.

The Grandfather 2 Tee Design by Raffiti.

The Grandfather 2 Tee Design Review.

The Grandfather 2 tee design is for Rick and Morty and The Godfather fans.

The concept is a mash up and parody of Francis Ford Coppola classic The Godfather trilogy and Cartoon Network's Rick and Morty. A concept that has been done by a few different artists and fans. Rather than have Marlon Brando as The Godfather holding a cat it has Rick holding Squanchy. In the logo instead of a hand holding puppeteer strings it is a hand holding Rick's portal gun. It is a good nod to both franchises and it works because Rock Sanchez is a badass.

The Grandfather 2 tee design features Tiny Rick parodying The Godfather movie poster.

As for the artwork, the characters are drawn exactly as they are in the cartoon with no variation so no artistic creative points are given. It all has to do with the layout which is also derivative. The colors and shading are nicely done.

While this is The Godfather pose it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

Neverheart Tee Design by Naolito.

Neverheart Tee Design Review.

The Neverheart tee design is for The Wizard of Oz fans that enjoy the music of Nirvana..

This design is based off of Nirvana's Nevermind album cover art (shown below). It depicts a baby Tin Man instead of a naked human baby swimming towards a non-vascular heart on a fishing line rather than a dollar bill. It is a time transcending mash up that bridges 1939 two halves of a century together seamlessly. It captures the essence of The Tin Man character well.

Nirvana Nevermind Album Cover.

So the artwork is a cartoon parody of the Nevermind album cover. The colors and shading are good for a design that is supposed to be under water although Naolito takes a different approach than over Nevermind album cover parodists. Rather than using wave effects he uses splotch and dab techniques. Which also leaves the actual water color whatever the fabric color choice is. There is no fishing line so that is disappointing to some degree but not enough for me to detract any stars.

This is a good shirt for Generation X, fans of grunge and of The Wizard of Oz.

McFly Tee Design by Danny Haas.

McFly Tee Design Review.

The McFly tee design is for the Back To The Future II and extreme skateboarding fans.

The concept is to have Marty performing traditional skateboard tricks to hoverboarding. That's it and it works. Taking something that is as iconic as the Hoverboard and McFly himself and imagining the possibilities of that combination raises the bar conceptually. It seems odd that we've never seen him perform these kind of tricks before, in the movies or fan art. I mean we all know he can ride and evade but to think he can do the Tony Hawk type stuff is mind blowing. I sense a Marty McFly Pro Hoverboarding Video game in the future.

As for the artwork, it is simple, clean and effective. It is a bit like stencil vector art as there is more than minimalism but less than realism. There is some light shading but not enough to be considered dynamic, it is just enough to keep it form being flat. The colors are as true to the movie as a fan would want. But the best part of this design is the action illustrated. Having Marty posed in suspended animation during the middle of a trick (Kick Flip) shows great planning true design skill. It looks retro, futuristic and modern all at the same time. Thus, a flawless execution of the concept. This is a must have Back To The Future t-shirt for collectors.

This McFly tee will make a nice gift for the 80's movie buffs just as much as it would for the Back To The Future fans.

Children are in luck because this comes in kid sizes too.

Type Star Tee Design by Cattoc_C.

Type Star Tee Design Review.

The Type Star tee design is for Star Wars fans.

For The concept, this takes the first 6 episode opening crawls and arranges them in the shape of the Death Star. This design took a lot of patience to make even if it was done as an overlay layer on top of a Death Star base image (which gets removed) and the shading is done by changing the color of the font thus creating some depth.

Here are parts of the crawls to give you an idea of what is typed.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace: "Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic. The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute. Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of deadly battleships, the greedy Trade Federation has stopped all shipping to the small planet of Naboo. While the Congress of the Republic endlessly debates this alarming chain of events, the Supreme Chancellor has secretly dispatched two Jedi Knights, the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy, to settle the conflict...."

Episode II: Attack of the Clones: "There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several thousand solar systems have declared their intentions to leave the Republic. This separatist movement, under the leadership of the mysterious Count Dooku, has made it difficult for the limited number of Jedi Knights to maintain peace and order in the galaxy. Senator Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, is returning to the Galactic Senate to vote on the critical issue of creating an ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC to assist the overwhelmed Jedi...."

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: "War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count Dooku. There are heroes on both sides. Evil is everywhere. In a stunning move, the fiendish droid leader, General Grievous, has swept into the Republic capital and kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine, leader of the Galactic Senate. As the Separatist Droid Army attempts to flee the besieged capital with their valuable hostage, two Jedi Knights lead a desperate mission to rescue the captive Chancellor...."

Episode IV: A New Hope: "It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet. Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy...."

Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back: "It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy. Evading the dreaded Imperial Starfleet, a group of freedom fighters led by Luke Skywalker has established a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of space...."

Episode VI: Return of the Jedi: "Luke Skywalker has returned to his home planet of Tatooine in an attempt to rescue his friend Han Solo from the clutches of the vile gangster Jabba the Hutt. Little does Luke know that the GALACTIC EMPIRE has secretly begun construction on a new armored space station even more powerful than the first dreaded Death Star. When completed, this ultimate weapon will spell certain doom for the small band of rebels struggling to restore freedom to the galaxy..."

As for the Type Star Tee artwork, the font colors are appropriately Death Star tones.

The Type Star tee design is perfect for wearing to screenings of Star Wars, or while attending Comic-Cons and so on and so forth.

Starry DeLorean Tee Design by Punksthetic.

Starry DeLorean Tee Design Review.

The Starry DeLorean tee design is for the Back To The Future fans that enjoy the art of Vincent van Gogh.

The concept is to combine the coolest time machine which comes from the Back To The Future trilogy with the Starry Night sky which is the perfect backdrop for anything dealing with space and time (Space time). This is one of the better Starry Night parodies and mash ups and if you've been paying attention to this blog you may have seen some reviewed already.

Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh

As for the artwork, the style is emulating Vincent van Gogh's obviously with the broad stroke swirls. Not an exact copy but enough to know its basis (No moon for example). The subject of this tee the DeLorean, is ore subtle than inserted than say the parody featuring Serenity. Black fabric is the better choice in this case as it helps all the colors to pop with much greater contrast. I do think this tee would had been even better had Hill Valley and the Clock tower been the town and prominent building depicted.

This Starry DeLorean tee will make a nice gift for the Back To the Future fans.

Wear this tee to Comic-Cons, Sci-Fi conventions and to art museums. Basically ANYTIME ANYWHERE.

The Good The Bad The Rick Tee Design by Haragos.

The Good The Bad The Rick Tee Design Review.

The The Good The Bad The Rick tee design is for the Rick and Morty fans and anyone who likes or gets the "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" reference as well.

This concept is a parody of "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" only with the good Morty, the evil eye patch wearing self hating Morty and Rick in the segmented panels. The concept is probably done elsewhere but this one has simplicity which makes it a good pick.

As for the artwork, while the layout is derivative, the art features straight cartoon rips of the character's faces on a different board shapes with no wood grain. The coloring is a monochromatic orange theme which gives it a sunset feel and adds to the Western motif which is the point. The shading is consistent as each panel's light source is the same which isn't the case for all The Good The Bad The Ugly parodies or even the original poster art. The tee can be stands out easily from a good distance without missing any detail which makes it a great tee to be out.

Wear this tee to a Comic-Con or to the store because Rick and Morty is awesome.
