Sugar Skull Girl Tee Design

Sugar Skull Girl Tee Design Review.

This Sugar Skull Girl tee design is for the goth people that celebrate the Day of The Dead and who enjoy monarch butterflies.

The concept is to show a girl or rather a woman with her face painted up like a sugar skull for the Day of the Dead celebration. As for the butterflies, they are a design element that represent life and freedom which is in complete contrast with the Day of the Dead theme. While these are monarch butterflies, I do not see any connection between this and MK Ultra as I think this is just an innocent work of art. Or is it? Maybe that is the purpose of the aforementioned contrast in the theme. I'll let you be the judge.

Now for the artwork, the composition is nice focusing on the girl's face. First, you will notice that this is mostly Black,White, and Grey. The only non-neutral color is the Orange of the girl's eyes, makeup, and on the butterflies. Which adds another kind of contrast. The second thing you might notice is the girl's expression. For a lack of a better term I will describe this as being rather deadpan. Finally, the other elements float around her such as the butterflies and some White splatter effect, tying this piece together nicely.

As for the Print, this turned out okay. It is not the best print but it is far from the worst. It is average for the DTG industry. This score is a result of the muting of the orange compared to the thumbnail.

Tattooed Girl 1 Tee Design Review.

The Tattooed Girl 1 tee design is for the people into the lowbrow style art and the Día de Muertos theme.

The concept for the Tattooed Girl 1 tee is to show a chesty blonde woman as a tattooed day of the dead girl. The first thing you will notice is the girl herself. She is smiling and she is in some sort of one arm behind the head pose. The next thing you might notice is the Red circle that is framing her as a design element. And contrary to the title of the piece, the tattoos are probably the last thing to go noticed. Largely due to do the contrast of the other colors.

As for the artwork, it takes an almost minimalist approach. Very little shading and no color blending involved. The focus is of the figure and solid colors are used to emphasize the shapes and contours. The scale and sizing of the arms seems to be off to my eyes, particularly the size of the biceps when compared to each other and the seemingly absent shoulder with the raised arm. I am not sure if this is a sign of an amateur artist or a mark of a genius such as Pablo Picasso. You can decide.

As for the Print, we went with a hoodie. It is a bit muted compared to the DBH thumbnail of the design. At least for the Reds and the subtle colors that are supposed to reveal the woman's actual eyes (shown as solid Black) within the Dark Grey of painted eyes. As for the Fabric, Black is the best choice especially for contrast. The Hoodie is comfy and cozy.

Coyolxauhqui Tee Design Review.

The Coyolxauhqui tee design is for the people that like the Catholic Celebration of Day of the Dead, Mesoamerican Culture, and for those who support the Ancient Astronaut (Alien) theory.

Olmec heads in outer space, scrolls with ancient symbols, and feathers of a serpent god frame this awesome Aztec inspired illustration! If you like Aztec and Mesoamerican art, this t-shirt is for you!

The concept is of a beautiful star goddess dolled up with Day of the Dead style make up and is surrounded other Mesoamerican motifs. She has this tilted head gaze where she appears to be judging the viewer. Take note of the Olmec heads' eyes. They are white and without irises and pupils. Very ominous as if they glow with some out of this world power. The design is different than most of the Day of the Dead stuff as this incorporates more aspects of the native culture from the Mesoamerican region and not just the known Day of The Dead mix into the All Saints Day but some Olmec imagery as well.

As for the artwork, the colors used in the design are Pink, Blue and White and different blends there of which make it seem like more colors are used. That takes a lot of skill as that kind of limitation gets tricky with such a detailed piece. The shading is subjective but it works.
