Rick and Porty Shirt Design by LavaLamp

Rick and Porty Shirt Design Review.

The Rick and Porty shirt design is for the Rick and Morty and Portal fans. They done gone crossover in this one broh.

Let's consider the concept, it is obvious but funny. At first, nothing seems unusual for the pair as they run to other dimensions via portals. But upon closer inspection, the rifts are not the usual Green ones that they are known for producing. Instead, these are the ones from the hit video game Portal, a completely different franchise all together. Thus making this a necessary mash up. Personally, I feel that it should had used the Portal gun from the game rather than Rick's usual portal gun but that is just my humble opinion. However, there is enough here for anyone familiar and observant enough to get the references.

As for the artwork, it is not original by any means nor is it that difficult to illustrate. But the scene does come together well for the concept. For instance, the colors are true to the Rick and Morty series, just as they work well for the Blue and Yellow port holes from Portal. Also, there is a good gradient for fade off for the background, preventing this from being a boring "square" design". So it is aesthetically pleasing. What isn't shown are lasers or whatever is chasing them, which is a disappointment as it could add much to the action of the scene. Or at least provide and explanation. Regardless to the fact that nothing out of the ordinary is really happening I have to go ahead and give the artwork 5 stars just for being awesome. Wubba Lubba dub dub!

As for the print, it is good but the company usually prints better and bolder for the Blue end of the spectrum. There is not enough of an issue to take away any stars though. If you happen to have an issue with your print you could always return it if it is truly defective. This one was printed up in the middle of the 2016 Christmas rush and features a tag rather than being their normal tagless offering.

This Rick and Porty Shirt will make a nice gift for inter-dimensional travel buffs and fans of these franchises. Especially the Rick and Morty fans.

Ne..burp! Mind Tee Design by Raffiti.

Ne..burp! Mind Tee Design Review.

The Ne..burp! Mind tee design is for Rick and Morty fans that enjoy Nirvana and alcohol.

The concept for the Ne..burp! Mind tee is based off of Nirvana's Nevermind album cover art (shown below). It depicts a Rick Sanchez instead of a naked human baby (Tiny Rick would had been even funnier). Instead of the dollar on a fishing line like on the album cover there is a flask of whiskey that holds Rick's attention underwater. It would had been better to have the flask attached to a fishing line as well. It is a decent mash up that represents the blending of the 90's with the present. The funniest part about this design is that Rick's junk is pixelated for censorship.

Nirvana Nevermind Album Cover.

So the artwork is a cartoon parody of the Nevermind album cover. The coloring and shading are good enough for a cartoon. The water is simplified with adequate water wave effects. This prevents it from looking too busy. The fabric color makes up the color of the water so Navy or Turquoise works the best. As mentioned earlier there is no fishing line so that is disappointing to some degree but not enough for me to detract any stars.

This is a good shirt for Generation X, fans of grunge and of Rick and Morty the funniest thing on the T.V. in the past few years. Even if a person is just 1 out of the 3 they would still dig this design.

I wouldn't recommend this as a school garment since it has an alcohol reference (that and Rick and Morty is for Mature Audiences).

Mr. Meeseeks Pulp Fiction Tee Design by bovaart.

Mr. Meeseeks Pulp Fiction Tee Design Review.

The Mr. Meeseeks Pulp Fiction tee design is for Rick and Morty and Pulp Fiction fans.

Pulp Fiction

The concept for this mash up is oddly appropriate. The Pulp Fiction characters of Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield (seen above) are replaced by Mr. Meeseeks x 2. And rather than referring to Brett they refer to Jerry who is just as annoying to them as Brett was to Jules. It blends the 90's with the present in such a way that anyone who hasn't seen Pulp Fiction will do so just to understand this design. That's the power of Rick and Morty.

As for the artwork, this one gives both of the Mr. Meeseeks Pulp hairstyles. The color is nice for the most part, not all Pulp Fiction Parodies featuring this scene have color but it works. The font used for the text is a bit difficult to read, at least the stroke around the font makes its so. Which is a shame because the line "Say What again, Jerry" is what makes this mash up and gag work. So points are deducted as a result.

While this is the Pulp Fiction pose it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

The Grandfather 2 Tee Design by Raffiti.

The Grandfather 2 Tee Design Review.

The Grandfather 2 tee design is for Rick and Morty and The Godfather fans.

The concept is a mash up and parody of Francis Ford Coppola classic The Godfather trilogy and Cartoon Network's Rick and Morty. A concept that has been done by a few different artists and fans. Rather than have Marlon Brando as The Godfather holding a cat it has Rick holding Squanchy. In the logo instead of a hand holding puppeteer strings it is a hand holding Rick's portal gun. It is a good nod to both franchises and it works because Rock Sanchez is a badass.

The Grandfather 2 tee design features Tiny Rick parodying The Godfather movie poster.

As for the artwork, the characters are drawn exactly as they are in the cartoon with no variation so no artistic creative points are given. It all has to do with the layout which is also derivative. The colors and shading are nicely done.

While this is The Godfather pose it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

The Good The Bad The Rick Tee Design by Haragos.

The Good The Bad The Rick Tee Design Review.

The The Good The Bad The Rick tee design is for the Rick and Morty fans and anyone who likes or gets the "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" reference as well.

This concept is a parody of "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" only with the good Morty, the evil eye patch wearing self hating Morty and Rick in the segmented panels. The concept is probably done elsewhere but this one has simplicity which makes it a good pick.

As for the artwork, while the layout is derivative, the art features straight cartoon rips of the character's faces on a different board shapes with no wood grain. The coloring is a monochromatic orange theme which gives it a sunset feel and adds to the Western motif which is the point. The shading is consistent as each panel's light source is the same which isn't the case for all The Good The Bad The Ugly parodies or even the original poster art. The tee can be stands out easily from a good distance without missing any detail which makes it a great tee to be out.

Wear this tee to a Comic-Con or to the store because Rick and Morty is awesome.

Grandpa Rick Is A Dick Tee Design by Haragos

Grandpa Rick Is A Dick Tee Design Review.

The Grandpa Rick Is A Dick tee design is for Rick and Morty and Dr. Seuss fans. Two franchises that seem like they shouldn't be anywhere near each other.

The concept is a hilarious mash up of Dr. Seuss books and Cartoon Network's Rick and Morty ...and it sums up every single episode right here. It has all the elements that are needed, even Mr. Meeseeks graces us with an appearance. The text consists of the appropriately titled "Grandpa Rick Is A Dick", with the burped add on "A-a-and other t-uurp-ales." (And other Tales). The humor and concept of this tee is better than the artwork itself.

As for the artwork, the coloring is truer to Dr. Seuss than it is to Rick and Morty but the style is a perfect marriage of both. Adding Grinch like features to Rick is what makes this design work out so well.

While this is Dr. Seuss inspired, it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

Let Me Out Tee Design by Prime Premne

Let Me Out Tee Design Review.

The Let Me Out tee design is for Rick and Morty and Mario fans. TINY RICK!

The concept is a hilarious mash up and parody of Nintendo's Classic Super Mario Bros. 3 video game and Cartoon Network's Rick and Morty Episode -Big Trouble In Little Sanchez (shown below). This is one of a few different versions of this concept by the same artist with varying text and layouts. Who wouldn't want to play a video game starring TINY RICK!?

As for the artwork, the coloring is crisp and vibrant, it works well on any color shirt. The shading is soft and is suitable for both franchises. This particular layout and version of this design is the one that more closely resembles the actual Super Mario Bros 3 game cover art. The texts "The coolest, most popular !@#$%&* KID in school yet!", "Wubby (Let me Out) Lubby Doob Doob", (Let Me Out) this is not a shirt" add plenty of show references to make any die hard fan happy.

While this is the Super Mario Bros. pose it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

Multiverse Wars Tee Design by Creative Outpouring.

Multiverse Wars Tee Design Review.

The Multiverse Wars tee design is for the Rick and Morty and Star Wars fans.

The concept is like half parody and half mashup. In this, 6 of the Rick and Morty characters are spoofing the Star Wars episode 4: A New Hope movie poster (shown below). Rick Sanchez is holding up a beer with a lightsaberesque glow coming from it while Morty is wielding Rick's Laser Gun. Summer, Jerry and Beth are replacing the Droids in the background. Mr. Meeseeks is the shadowy face in space instead of Darth Vader's trademarked helmet. The location is like some effed up dimension in time and space that Rick and Morty go to at some point or another rather than a Star Wars location.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Poster

As for the artwork, it is good. The colors are just like they are in the cartoon and the shading is well, better than the actual cartoon.

This Multiverse Wars tee will make a nice gift for the Rick and Morty fans. Even some Star Wars fans would appreciate it.

Like most of the designs on this site, it would make a great Comic-Con shirt.

PULP RICKTION Tee Design by LavaLamp.

Pulp Ricktion Tee Design Review.

The Pulp Ricktion tee design is for Rick and Morty and Pulp Fiction fans.

Pulp Fiction

The concept is funny and true to the Rick and Morty characters. The Pulp Fiction characters of Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield (seen above) are replaced by Rick and Morty. This is one of the funniest and best versions of the numerous Pulp Fiction parody/mashups out there. Though the art work of the characters doesn't appear to be original at all, like a straight rip from the show. It looks good. After all, the characters were not created by LavaLamp so not all of the creative credit can go to him obviously.

As for the artwork, this one also adds a bit of color and references the devices of Rick and Morty instead of Vincent's and Jule's guns. However, while Rick's Portal gun does produce Green portals, Rick's laser gun that Morty is firing should be Red or Blue to stay true to the show's episodes. It's nice to see a cartoon version of the Pulp Fiction scene.

While this is the Pulp Fiction pose it is definitely more of a Rick and Morty fan tee.

I WANT TO BELIEVE 100 YEARS Tee Design by Fishmas

I Want To Believe 100 Years Tee Design Review.

The I Want To Believe 100 Years tee design is for Sci-Fi fans that enjoy Rick and Morty and the X-Files.

The concept of this design is based on the show Rick and Morty (clip shown above) and the poster "I Want To Believe" that could be seen in "Spooky" Fox Mulder's F.B.I. office. It is also the title of the second feature film installment of the X-Files franchise. The design has Rick and Morty flying in Rick's Ship at one of the many dimensions that they travel to during their crazy adventures. Wubba Lubba dubb dubb!

As for the artwork, there is nothing particularly special. There is nothing bad about it. It looks good. Even the coloring and shading are okay, even though the Rick's Ship and the characters should be shaded completely to match the lighting on the silhouettes of the tree things. It is done this way to show the characters mope clearly. After all, the cartoon is crudely drawn to begin with so why make them obscure? That would make fora crappy design. As it is, it's basically just an image from the cartoon even if it is drawn completely by Fishmas as Rick and Morty is still not his creation. It is cool though. Typically, rectangular designs suck unholy ass on a T-shirt. But this one works as it is parodying a poster. Add the phrase "I Want To Believe" and suddenly it becomes a kickass mashup.
Any Rick and Morty fan will want this this tee whether they like the X-Files or not.

This design is offered on kids' tees too even if the show is inappropriate for young ages.
