MONTOYA DETENTION Tee Design by Saqman.

Montoya Detention Tee Design Review.

The Montoya Detention tee design is a The Princess Bride tee for the fans of The Simpsons chalkboard gag.

As for the concept, the Montoya Detention tee design is a mash up that plays on both Bart Simpson's detention punishment of writing on the chalkboard and Iñigo Montoya's little introduction/taunt that he's been practicing for years. "Hello. My name is Iñigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." The repetition theme is a common element in both.

This is done in The Simpsons drawing style and depicts Iñigo as the one writing on the chalkboard. The clothing is all Iñigo. But the face is a good blend of both Bart and Iñigo. The coloring is great and better than most of the other Simpson's parodies out there by far, as is the shading. The details that are added here like the chalkboard being a darker green around the edges than in the center. Even the character's own shadow matches his shape and is not just a circle or spot on the floor.

Fans of either franchise could go for this shirt. But The Princess Bride fans would definitely be the main target here due to the quote.

I WANT TO BELIEVE 100 YEARS Tee Design by Fishmas

I Want To Believe 100 Years Tee Design Review.

The I Want To Believe 100 Years tee design is for Sci-Fi fans that enjoy Rick and Morty and the X-Files.

The concept of this design is based on the show Rick and Morty (clip shown above) and the poster "I Want To Believe" that could be seen in "Spooky" Fox Mulder's F.B.I. office. It is also the title of the second feature film installment of the X-Files franchise. The design has Rick and Morty flying in Rick's Ship at one of the many dimensions that they travel to during their crazy adventures. Wubba Lubba dubb dubb!

As for the artwork, there is nothing particularly special. There is nothing bad about it. It looks good. Even the coloring and shading are okay, even though the Rick's Ship and the characters should be shaded completely to match the lighting on the silhouettes of the tree things. It is done this way to show the characters mope clearly. After all, the cartoon is crudely drawn to begin with so why make them obscure? That would make fora crappy design. As it is, it's basically just an image from the cartoon even if it is drawn completely by Fishmas as Rick and Morty is still not his creation. It is cool though. Typically, rectangular designs suck unholy ass on a T-shirt. But this one works as it is parodying a poster. Add the phrase "I Want To Believe" and suddenly it becomes a kickass mashup.
Any Rick and Morty fan will want this this tee whether they like the X-Files or not.

This design is offered on kids' tees too even if the show is inappropriate for young ages.

Future Wars Tee Design by DCVisualArts

Future Wars Tee Design Review.

The Future Wars tee design is for the Futurama and Star Wars fans.

This is a good mash up as it combines two hit sci-fi shows. In this, 4 of the Futurama characters are spoofing the Star Wars episode 4: A New Hope movie poster (shown below). Philip J. Fry is holding up a lightsaber as he replaces Luke. Turanga Leela, holding her ray gun, instead of Princess Leia Organa posing with her a blaster. Bender is drawn up to look like Darth Vader and is the giant face in space instead of Darth Vader himself. Instead of R2D2 and C3PO in the background there is Zoidberg as Droidberg C3PO and I'm not sure who or what is replacing R2D2. Bessie (The Planet Express Ship) and NNY traffic replaces the tie fighters. The location based on the background and said traffic is New New York.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Poster

As for the artwork, it is a nice homage to both Star Wars and Futurama. The colors good and retro like the original poster only cartoonish. There is minimal shading which is okay for the style.

This Future Wars tee will make a nice gift for the Futurama fans and some Star Wars fans would appreciate it as well.

Children are in luck because this comes in kid sizes too.

Busted Ghost Tee Design by Naolito.

Busted Ghost Tee Design Review.

The Busted Ghost tee design is for the Pac-Man and Ghostbusters fans.

The concept is far from original as there have been various Ghostbusters and Pac-Man mash ups and parodies. This one uses the ghost trap as a coffin. Speedy aka "Pinky" is the ghost in the coffin but the character is shown as a dark blue. This is because when Pac-Man eats a power pellet the ghost turn blue then they can be chomped. However, once chomped they no longer have their "sheet" or color as they just roam around as floating eyes. This was done this way because eyes only would look weird in a coffin. The best part of this design though and by far the funniest thing about it is how Shadow aka "Blinky" stares at the coffin like he knows something is not quite right.

As for the artwork, it is a decent illustration but it isn't perfect. For starters, where is the other lid flap and hinges for the coffin? At first glance people might not notice that it is missing. Some may never notice. Second, the shading is great except the lighting on the ghost in the trap is different. It is just a cartoon type design so it really doesn't matter so much but I notice it. IT was done that way to show the contour of Pinky because that is the only visible side. Illustrators often break the rules of physics to force a perspective. It does however look good, it has great coloring. The layout is perfect. the middle ghost Pokey aka "Clyde" is raised a little in order to have him stand behind the others so they aren't in a perfect straight line. Making it look more natural and overall better than lined up like ducks in a row. Each ghost also has their own facial expression.

This Busted Ghost tee will make a good gift for Pac-Man or Ghostbusters fans. Basically anyone that was around in or at least born in the 80's will appreciate it.

There are no Kids' tees for this design from this retailer so it gets docked for that.

Wear this tee anywhere and everywhere that tshirts are socially acceptable.

Tales From Beyond The Wall Tee Design by Atomic Rocket.

Tales From Beyond The Wall Tee Review.

THIS DESIGN IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM THIS RETAILER.

The Tales From Beyond The Wall tee design is for Game of Thrones fans and those that grew up with comic books especially ones like Tales From The Crypt and other pulp classics.

The concept for the Tales From Beyond The Wall tee design centers around everyone's favorite bastard Jon Snow, his direwolf Ghost and the White Walkers. But like any great comic book be it from Marvel, DC, Darkhorse, Vertigo, or whatever the mock cover is full of suspense and branding. "Stark Publishing House" is a good way to include the Stark name into the design as a show reference. The "December 1st") date is a "Winter Is Coming" nod. The fake barcode is a nice realistic touch. And the True to life "1st Epic Issue!!!" cover eye sore helps make it believable as a real comic entitled "Tales From Beyond The Wall!!!".

As far as the artwork, it has a strange style like DC meets Archie. Nothing drawn dynamically but enough color and shading (though inconsistent) to get the job done. Atomic Rocket did a good job making it look like winter you can see Jon's breath. It is a bit too cartoonish for my blood but some people do not like more realistic looking art in their comic books.

Team Jon Snow would dig this tee. With that stated, this is a fun Game of Thrones inspired tee that those rooting for the Starks or that are mostly only interested in the bigger picture issue would enjoy.

Let's Operate Already Tee Design by KindaCreative

Let’s Operate Already Tee Design Review.

The Let's Operate Already tee design is for the Futurama fans whether they have fond memories of the Operation game or not.

The concept is funny and true to the Dr. John Zoidberg character as he is as incompetent as a Larry, Curly, or Moe as surgeons. Hence the "Skill Game" quote. There is a healthy mix and balance of both the Futurama Franchise and the board game Operation. If there was a real life Futurama Edition of Operation it would look like this and be a huge hit. Why not? They have The Big Bang Theory Monopoly sets and Firefly Yahtzee so it is very plausible.

As for the artwork, it takes the two Futurama characters as they are and throws in some Operation elements. Like KindaCreative substitutes a red ball for Fry's nose and includes rectangle holes all over his body. Inside the holes are objects instead of body parts like organs, bones. Such as parasites (worms). There are tons of Futurama references in this one shirt. Like the Slurm can, bee stinger, Seymour's bone, Brain Slug and the Robot Devil's hand (a reference to The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings episode). Those are all geek icing on a geek cake. Aside from the dead on illustration there isn't much that can be said. It looks good on every available color too.

This Let's Operate Already tee will make a nice gift for any Futurama fan. It's funny and true to the show.

Episode 4 A New Formula Tee Design by Ninjaink

Episode 4 A New Formula Tee Design Review.

The Episode 4 A New Formula tee design is for the Breaking Bad and Star Wars fans.

The concept is more of a parody than it is a mash up. Luckily, because it would just be outright stupid to combine the two as a mashup. Seems like anything and everything is mashed together at some point. With this, 5 of the Breaking Bad characters are spoofing the Star Wars episode 4: A New Hope movie poster (shown below). Walter White is holding up a beaker of his famous blue sky meth instead of Luke Skywalker holding up a lightsaber. Skyler White, holding a cigarette sits at his feet, instead of Princess Leia Organa standing while holding a blaster. Gustavo Fring is the shadowy face in space instead of Darth Vader's trademarked helmet. Instead of R2D2 and C3PO in the background there is Saul Goodman and Jesse Pinkman. An explosion of a 747's replaces the tie fighters as the pink teddy bear free falls from the midair collision. The location is pretty much the same in both scenes a desert landscape give or take a few details depending on the franchise.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Poster

As for the artwork, it is damn good. Almost perfect in fact. Saul Goodman's face has a shadow on the opposite side than everyone else's and that is the only thing wrong with it. To be fair, he is trying to match C3PO's lighting rather than focus on his own creation. I'm not taking away a point for that as I am the only one that would notice or get annoyed by it. FIX IT NINJAINK! The textures in this piece are outstanding. As are the colors. The fact that everything stays true to Breaking Bad is again, a smart move. This is one of the best jobs for capturing the characters' likenesses as Ninajink is not afraid to add any details.

This Episode 4 A New Formula tee will make a nice gift for the Breaking Bad fans. Even some Star Wars fans would appreciate it.

I Want To Believe Tee Design by Cubik and ZombieMedia

I Want To Believe Tee Design Review.

The I Want To Believe tee design is for Sci-Fi fans that enjoy Back To The Future and the X-Files.

The concept of this design is based on the Back To The Future Hoverboard and the poster "I Want To Believe" that could be seen in "Spooky" Fox Mulder's F.B.I. office. It is also the title of the second feature film installment of the X-Files franchise. An actual hoverboard has been the dream of almost everyone that has seen the Back To The Future II and III movies not just the fanboys. WE ALL WANT TO BELIEVE. So much so that two variations of the hoverboard have been made this year to match the deadline in the movie... the Hendo Board and the Lexus Hoverboard. Though neither are as tweaked out or perfected as the one in the movies.

As for the artwork, there is a good full colored illustration of the fictional Mattel Hoverboard in the foreground with a silhouetted Hill Valley Courthouse in the background. Awesome coloring and contrast. Personally I think it is a little weird to see just a hoverboard without a pair of legs attached to it, but that is just me.

The 80's children would probably love this tee as the Back to The Future movies are iconic.

This is a good BTTF tribute tee as this is the year (2015) that the Marty McFly character traveled to in the in the Back To The Future II movie.

Hear Me Roar Tee Design by Alberto Arni.

Hear Me Roar Tee Design Review.

THIS DESIGN IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM THIS RETAILER.

The Hear Me Roar tee design is for Game of Thrones fans and those that have fond memories of The Lion King.

For the concept, The Hear Me Roar tee design corrupts the Game of Thrones world with the evilness of Disney's The Lion King. But it looks damn good. The Lion is the sigil for the House of Lannister and putting Tyrion on a cliff with two other famous lions is a fun idea. It has the right balance of cute and funny as well as all the needed references to make a good mashup or parody.

As for the artwork, the shading, lighting and coloring are all fantastic. It looks like a still from a large production Disney animated movie. It has loads of stunning detail and effects. Especially with the use of the simulated sunlight. It looks really good on a red tee.

As a result, this is one of the best parody tees.

This is an fun Game of Thrones shirt that is bound to bring laughs to many fans.

Writing as someone that is not a fan of The Lion King or of Disney in general, the Game of Thrones fans would still like this tee. But die hard Disney fans would only like this if they like Game of Thrones.

Pipes N Castles Tee Design by In Stank We Trust.

Pipes N Castles Tee Design Review.

The Pipes N Castles tee design is for the Super Mario Bros. fans that listened to Guns N' Roses during their gaming session.

The concept is an alright mash up. If you can imagine Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad and Bowser as a heavy metal band. It's not the best nor the worst Guns N' Roses album cover parody or mashup by any means. And there are many out there. But it hits all of the requirements needed for the concept to work. All of the main characters from Super Mario Bros. video games have their skulls on a cross which replace the skulls of the Guns N' Roses band members. Instead of the title "Appetite for Destruction" in the bottom banner it has "Appetite for Jumping" which is somewhat humorous.

As for the artwork, it is simple and cartoonish. It is definitely closer to the Super Mario Bros. drawing style than it is to the edgier Guns N' Roses album art. It lacks some of shading aspects that GNR's artwork had but that just plays into the NES territory.

If this was a real album or even a video game soundtrack, Welcome to the Warpzone would probably be one of the songs.

This is a fun design that metal heads and Nintendo fans would appreciate.
