Future Wars Tee Design by DCVisualArts

Future Wars Tee Design Review.

The Future Wars tee design is for the Futurama and Star Wars fans.

This is a good mash up as it combines two hit sci-fi shows. In this, 4 of the Futurama characters are spoofing the Star Wars episode 4: A New Hope movie poster (shown below). Philip J. Fry is holding up a lightsaber as he replaces Luke. Turanga Leela, holding her ray gun, instead of Princess Leia Organa posing with her a blaster. Bender is drawn up to look like Darth Vader and is the giant face in space instead of Darth Vader himself. Instead of R2D2 and C3PO in the background there is Zoidberg as Droidberg C3PO and I'm not sure who or what is replacing R2D2. Bessie (The Planet Express Ship) and NNY traffic replaces the tie fighters. The location based on the background and said traffic is New New York.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Poster

As for the artwork, it is a nice homage to both Star Wars and Futurama. The colors good and retro like the original poster only cartoonish. There is minimal shading which is okay for the style.

This Future Wars tee will make a nice gift for the Futurama fans and some Star Wars fans would appreciate it as well.

Children are in luck because this comes in kid sizes too.

Where's Walt Tee Design by Harantula

Where’s Walt Tee Review

The Where's Walt tee design is for the Breaking Bad fans that thought mashing Walter White up with Where's Waldo would be a good and funny idea. Guilty!

This concept is solid. It has an awesome balance of Waldo and Walter elements. Waldo Shirt, Walter underpants. Waldo glasses and head shape, Walter's facial features. The Hazmat Jumpsuit and shovel, pink teddy bear, Blue Sky, Los Pollos Hermanos rubber chicken, gas mask, shades, pork pie hat and ricin filled cigarette in a pack are nice little extras. But the big barrel of money with the words "Where's Walt" and "The Meth Journey" is just generous. It is based on the episode where Walt goes on the run from the law in the entitled Granite State.

As for the artwork, Harantula did a good job making Waldo look Walt like. The colors are great and the shading is good enough though not complete. The Waldo pose is what delivers this tee to awesomeness.

A funny tee for any Breaking Bad tee that grew up that enjoyed the Where's Waldo books and cartoon.

A Very Long Time Ago Tee Design by Vintz.

A Very Long Time Ago Tee Design Review.

The A Very Long Time Ago tee design is for Star Wars and Gremlins fans.

This concept is effing hilarious and clever. If you have ever wondered what the love child of Yoda and an Ewok would look like, this is it. Whether you wanted to think about that or not. But that is not the funniest or even most disturbing part. Check out how creepy Yoda looks with his bulging eyes and old man pipe. It's like viewing one of those post-mortem photos. Add all of those elements together and behold, one of the greatest pop culture tees of all time. If this tee looks familiar, it is because the design used to be sold at Threadless... (Also) a long time ago.

As for the artwork, it is drawn in a cartoon style that is made up to look like an old early photograph from the Victorian Era. Think Conté Crayons on cardboard. The shading and highlights are superb. The facial expressions are on par with damn near all the old time portraits. Probably because people had to be still for a long time for the photographic plates to be exposed. At first, it took roughly 15 minutes. Then just a couple years later it was down to a couple of minutes. Which is still a long time to have to strike a pose. That and people back then were ashamed of their teeth due to the lack of dental care and hygiene. Either way, Vintz nailed it.

This tee is for any Star Wars and Gremlins fans or at least of the cute Mogwai form.

Wear this tee everywhere that tees are appropriate. It would make a great conversation starter at Comic-Cons and Sci-Fi conventions.

Busted Ghost Tee Design by Naolito.

Busted Ghost Tee Design Review.

The Busted Ghost tee design is for the Pac-Man and Ghostbusters fans.

The concept is far from original as there have been various Ghostbusters and Pac-Man mash ups and parodies. This one uses the ghost trap as a coffin. Speedy aka "Pinky" is the ghost in the coffin but the character is shown as a dark blue. This is because when Pac-Man eats a power pellet the ghost turn blue then they can be chomped. However, once chomped they no longer have their "sheet" or color as they just roam around as floating eyes. This was done this way because eyes only would look weird in a coffin. The best part of this design though and by far the funniest thing about it is how Shadow aka "Blinky" stares at the coffin like he knows something is not quite right.

As for the artwork, it is a decent illustration but it isn't perfect. For starters, where is the other lid flap and hinges for the coffin? At first glance people might not notice that it is missing. Some may never notice. Second, the shading is great except the lighting on the ghost in the trap is different. It is just a cartoon type design so it really doesn't matter so much but I notice it. IT was done that way to show the contour of Pinky because that is the only visible side. Illustrators often break the rules of physics to force a perspective. It does however look good, it has great coloring. The layout is perfect. the middle ghost Pokey aka "Clyde" is raised a little in order to have him stand behind the others so they aren't in a perfect straight line. Making it look more natural and overall better than lined up like ducks in a row. Each ghost also has their own facial expression.

This Busted Ghost tee will make a good gift for Pac-Man or Ghostbusters fans. Basically anyone that was around in or at least born in the 80's will appreciate it.

There are no Kids' tees for this design from this retailer so it gets docked for that.

Wear this tee anywhere and everywhere that tshirts are socially acceptable.

Let's Operate Already Tee Design by KindaCreative

Let’s Operate Already Tee Design Review.

The Let's Operate Already tee design is for the Futurama fans whether they have fond memories of the Operation game or not.

The concept is funny and true to the Dr. John Zoidberg character as he is as incompetent as a Larry, Curly, or Moe as surgeons. Hence the "Skill Game" quote. There is a healthy mix and balance of both the Futurama Franchise and the board game Operation. If there was a real life Futurama Edition of Operation it would look like this and be a huge hit. Why not? They have The Big Bang Theory Monopoly sets and Firefly Yahtzee so it is very plausible.

As for the artwork, it takes the two Futurama characters as they are and throws in some Operation elements. Like KindaCreative substitutes a red ball for Fry's nose and includes rectangle holes all over his body. Inside the holes are objects instead of body parts like organs, bones. Such as parasites (worms). There are tons of Futurama references in this one shirt. Like the Slurm can, bee stinger, Seymour's bone, Brain Slug and the Robot Devil's hand (a reference to The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings episode). Those are all geek icing on a geek cake. Aside from the dead on illustration there isn't much that can be said. It looks good on every available color too.

This Let's Operate Already tee will make a nice gift for any Futurama fan. It's funny and true to the show.

Episode 4 A New Formula Tee Design by Ninjaink

Episode 4 A New Formula Tee Design Review.

The Episode 4 A New Formula tee design is for the Breaking Bad and Star Wars fans.

The concept is more of a parody than it is a mash up. Luckily, because it would just be outright stupid to combine the two as a mashup. Seems like anything and everything is mashed together at some point. With this, 5 of the Breaking Bad characters are spoofing the Star Wars episode 4: A New Hope movie poster (shown below). Walter White is holding up a beaker of his famous blue sky meth instead of Luke Skywalker holding up a lightsaber. Skyler White, holding a cigarette sits at his feet, instead of Princess Leia Organa standing while holding a blaster. Gustavo Fring is the shadowy face in space instead of Darth Vader's trademarked helmet. Instead of R2D2 and C3PO in the background there is Saul Goodman and Jesse Pinkman. An explosion of a 747's replaces the tie fighters as the pink teddy bear free falls from the midair collision. The location is pretty much the same in both scenes a desert landscape give or take a few details depending on the franchise.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Poster

As for the artwork, it is damn good. Almost perfect in fact. Saul Goodman's face has a shadow on the opposite side than everyone else's and that is the only thing wrong with it. To be fair, he is trying to match C3PO's lighting rather than focus on his own creation. I'm not taking away a point for that as I am the only one that would notice or get annoyed by it. FIX IT NINJAINK! The textures in this piece are outstanding. As are the colors. The fact that everything stays true to Breaking Bad is again, a smart move. This is one of the best jobs for capturing the characters' likenesses as Ninajink is not afraid to add any details.

This Episode 4 A New Formula tee will make a nice gift for the Breaking Bad fans. Even some Star Wars fans would appreciate it.

I Want To Believe Tee Design by Cubik and ZombieMedia

I Want To Believe Tee Design Review.

The I Want To Believe tee design is for Sci-Fi fans that enjoy Back To The Future and the X-Files.

The concept of this design is based on the Back To The Future Hoverboard and the poster "I Want To Believe" that could be seen in "Spooky" Fox Mulder's F.B.I. office. It is also the title of the second feature film installment of the X-Files franchise. An actual hoverboard has been the dream of almost everyone that has seen the Back To The Future II and III movies not just the fanboys. WE ALL WANT TO BELIEVE. So much so that two variations of the hoverboard have been made this year to match the deadline in the movie... the Hendo Board and the Lexus Hoverboard. Though neither are as tweaked out or perfected as the one in the movies.

As for the artwork, there is a good full colored illustration of the fictional Mattel Hoverboard in the foreground with a silhouetted Hill Valley Courthouse in the background. Awesome coloring and contrast. Personally I think it is a little weird to see just a hoverboard without a pair of legs attached to it, but that is just me.

The 80's children would probably love this tee as the Back to The Future movies are iconic.

This is a good BTTF tribute tee as this is the year (2015) that the Marty McFly character traveled to in the in the Back To The Future II movie.

Dawn of Gaming Tee Design by Naolito

Dawn of Gaming Tee Review.

The Dawn of Gaming tee design is for the Donkey Kong fans that dig science fiction movies such as 2001: a Space Odyssey.

The concept replaces the man apes and monolith of 2001: A Space Odyssey with Donkey Kong and an original NES controller. Which is a great idea but the fact that Donkey Kong is wearing his trademark tie and that there are barrels around implies that he is already familiar with some sort of technology. This defeats the point of the monolith aspect as it is supposed to be the first technology of any kind that is witnessed by the man apes. Then again, how else are people supposed to know that it is Donkey Kong right? It is still cool regardless and most people won't analyze the Hell out of the design like I do, so go for it.

2001: A Space Odyssey

As for the artwork, it is professional through and through. Good coloring and shading. The background as awesome as it is with the man apes and all is grayed out providing more focus to Donkey Kong and the controller which are in color.

This Dawn of Gaming tee will make a nice gift for the Nintendo enthusiasts as well as the Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke fans.

This is a good gamer and Sci-Fi shirt that fits in anywhere such as Comic-Con or to rock concerts.

Missing Link Tee Design by wirdou

Missing Link Tee Design Review.

The Missing Link tee design is for the Legend of Zelda fans that are into evolution be it biological or archaeological.

The concept isn't original but the execution is. Illustrating Link as fossilized remains for the "Missing Link" gag is a different approach compared to Link standing next to apes and early man in a progression up to homo sapiens.

As for the artwork, it is a fun but slightly morbid cartoon. The best part is that Navi has finally STFU! But aside from that, the coloring and shading look great. The simple effect of circles and smears to create the ground layer works well for a tee. Brown is a better choice of farbic as it resembles dirt or the earth the best.

This Missing Link tee will make a nice gift for any Legend of Zelda fans.

This is a good gamer shirt. Wear it to Comic-Cons or when going on a fast-food run.

Missing Link Tee Design by wirdou.

Armored Maiden Tee Design by Ninjaink.

Armored Maiden Tee Review.

The Armored Maiden tee design is for the Metroid fans that dig the awesomeness of the metal band Iron Maiden.

So instead of the band name "Iron Maiden" there is "Armored Maiden" which is making use of the actual definition of the term "Maiden". The concept is cool and much like the Galactic Empire tee and it makes a much better mash up or parody of Iron Maiden's The Trooper than say the Skeletor version (which isn't bad) or the Mars Attacks version.

Iron Maiden The Trooper Album Cover

As for the artwork, it is epic. It features Samus Aran instead of Eddie and the substituted flag has the breast sigil of Samus's Zero suit instead of the Union Jack. It has the "The Hunter" as the album name instead of the original "The Trooper" which is parodying. Other game elements replace the rest of the album cover such as her crashed ship in place of the canon and various enemies instead of the Grim Reaper in the bottom right corner. All mirroring their counterparts perfectly. The shading and coloring is masterfully done as is expected from Ninjaink.

This Armored Maiden tee will make a nice gift for the Nintendo and Metroid fans. Plus it is available in kid sizes so they won't miss out on this sci-fi and rock legend tribute.

This is a good gamer shirt that fits in anywhere such as Comic-Con or to rock concerts.
