DTG Print Comparison: TeePublic Vs Neatoshop

TeePublic Vs NeatoShop DTG Print Quality Comparison. Two of the top brands in the Pop Culture T-shirt market. I ordered the samples in this comparison myself. As a disclaimer I will state that I am an affiliate of both brands and both pay their affiliate's close to the same rate for the referrals. TeePublic pays slightly more. I have no grudges against either brand and I am quite fond of both for their services, products and said affiliate programs. This is a Print Quality Only comparison but images of the product tags are shown for informational purposes only.

TeePublic Vs NeatoShop.

TeePublic (Their Quality score has gone down hill, as the prints wear out fast. So figure a 2.5 to 3 star. 8/22/2020) uses the Direct to Garment printing technique. While their tees are less than to average for DTG quality and do not surpass all of their DTG competitors. Most of the time you can usually find the same designs elsewhere such as NeatoShop.

NeatoShop does not have Screen Printed shirts as they specialize in Direct To Garment printing only. Their DTG printed T-shirts are the best in the Print On Demand industry to date that I have personally seen.

Most of the designs that you see on the Limited Edition Shirt-of-the-Day type sites (featured on the TeeFetch homepage) can be found at NeatoShop and TeePublic as well as at other Print On Demand services not shown in this comparison.

This is a side by side TeePublic Vs Neatoshop DTG print quality comparison of the same design from these two brands.

Neatoshop Vs Teepublic Side by Side Print Comparison 2

Both brands have about the same ink thickness and ink coverage area-wise. However, as usual NeatoShop's color range is far superior in this case as well as their DPI coverage as it shows far more facial details thanks to the many printed gradients in the shading. Think of it like comparing the graphics of PlayStation One vs XBOX One. On the TeePublic version, the clouds are more dense and brighter but this is also due to a lack of gradients. This isn't them providing more ink coverage, but rather it is eliminating the details. This makes the sky look like one gigantic smear of paint instead of being covered in gaseous clouds. Like they tripled the highlights and ignored the shadows and mid-tones almost completely. Dean's face starts to blend into the background rather than stand out from it. The stars are also more prominent and artificial looking on the TeePublic version as a result of this practice. On the NeatoShop version, the entire tee's tones are more natural on every design element as they are equalized. NeatoShop's sample comes closer to matching the actual design thumbnail shown on their website where as TeePublic's did not. Both brands have black tees to work with here so what it comes down to are the brand of Printers, the Printing Technique & Skill and the Inks themselves.

Not all of Teepublic's shirts are this noticeably different from than their design thumbnails. Usually, I rate their printing from 4 stars up to 5 stars as sometimes there are variations between what you see on the screen and what you actually get on the final product. In this case it is a 3.5 out of 5 stars as a result of being so different. Their Pink Lips Hoodie for example scored a 5 out of 5 but it largely consists of Black and White Inks. (Their Quality score has since gone down hill since this review, as the prints wear out fast. So figure a 2.5 to 3 star. 8/22/2020)

Neatoshop is always consistent with their DTG printing and quality control and so far I've always rated their printing 5 out of 5 stars. This is no exception.

I rate DTG on its own merits and I do not compare it to Screen Printing which is also based on its own merits. Both printing methods have their pros and cons. This has been a DTG vs DTG Brand Vs Brand print quality review.
