Arm The Animals Tee Brand Review.

Arm The Animals

Arm The Animals Tee Brand is a charitable business that supports Animal Rights. Meaning that a portion of the proceeds goes to various charities supporting that cause.

As for the Print Quality, the shirts and fleece that we have are printed slightly above the average Direct To Garment digital prints and are on par with ones that you would find at sites such Redbubble.

This is a print-to-order type of business so the turnaround time is usually great. Here is their shipping policy in their own words:

Shipping Policy

"We run most online orders on a “print to order basis” and we begin fulfillment as soon as possible. We buy blanks, produce, QC, and ship every day of the week and we can turn most orders in 5-7 business days. We are always working on this process to make it faster and more efficient and each quarter, we can get our orders out a day or two quicker. "

Arm The Animals Tee Brand Interview:

How did Arm The Animals Tee Brand get started and what is your brand all about?

Arm The Animals was born from tragedy in 2010 as an attempt to express the inexpressible. Created following the untimely death of my sister (who a lifelong animal advocate and “pet parent” to a dozen rescues), Arm The Animals would serve as a living tribute and means of carrying on a legacy that was ended too soon. It all started as an emotional reaction and a hobby, but thankfully, it took and has evolved into the brand you see today.

What are the ATA ideals?

Our ideals are really simple: Make killer tees and make an impact on the welfare of as many animals in need as possible. We want to be the voice of people out there who are not extremists, but truly care about animal welfare. We like to send a strong message via imagery and up to this point, we think we have done a good job of that. Charitable cause are really personal and subjective, but we see millions of animals in need and we just want to help as best we can. Our company motto is, “Speak for the Speechless & Defend the Defenseless”, so that’s the basic credo all of our designs speak to.

Who designs the tees?

95% of all designs are done in house and by myself or RJ Ochoa. We try to do as much in-house as possible, but about 2 years ago, we began reaching out and using a small network of artists from around the world. We have released items featuring art from Thailand, The Philippines Australia, The UAE, Ukraine and more. We really like the idea of getting a new, “Global take” on our concepts, which can be tough to do from inside the company. We have also had guest artists come and work in the office with us for weeks at a time; Franz Garcia (http://franzdg.blogspot.com/) & Tony Koehl (http://www.sketchthesoul.com/featured/they-died-not-knowing-tony-koehl.html) made major contributions to our releases over the past 2 years in particular.

What inspires the tees?

We have been inspired by making an impact on the general welfare of animals, but certain instances also influence us. For example, when Cecil the lion was killed last year, it inspired a hugely successful design that raised over $12,000 for the ZCTF, who patrols the area where Cecil was killed. Originally, ATA started as just a hobby to help cat/dog shelters and it has now mushroomed into covering all animals of all types. So many species are facing extinction and plight that there is no shortage of inspiration and when it all comes together, like it did with Cecil, the results are amazing!

How would you classify the tees?

We’re actually proud that there is no clear classification for our tees; I mean, they are graphic tees, but you can’t simply say they are high fashion, or hipster, or beach life inspired or political, etc. To us, they are all that… Animal welfare cuts across every demographic on the planet, so we’re lucky to be able to appeal to so many different kinds of people. This isn’t easy, but it is a good problem to have in our estimation.

When we researched animal welfare tees back in 2010 when we started the company - all we found was kittens and butterflies, or blood and guts - with nothing in between for the every man or every woman out there. We wanted to make tees for people who are pissed and care about animals and want to show it - so that’s what we attempted to do. We have had any kind of person you could imagine support us and have even seen three generations of a family all buy a different shirts from us at an event. That’s something special and it’s not something a ton of brands can pull off.

Soft Kitty Tee Design by Cattoc_C

Soft Kitty 2 Tee Design Review.

The Soft Kitty tee design depicts a cute white kitten napping with the words of the Soft Kitty song from the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory under it. The Long Sleeve version can be seen above.

Woof! Typically, as a puppy anything with cats as the subject matter is a big no-no. But this warm tee is an exception to the rule. First off, The Big Bang Theory is hilarious. Second, this tee doesn't smell like cat, even though there is clearly a cat on the front of it Grrr BARK! This tee doesn't smell like it comes from a sweat shop either so I do not feel sad when sniffing it. Finally, the print quality is outstanding, really raising the bar for the Print on Demand (POD), Digital Print, or Direct To Garment (DTG) printing industry. The colors are not muted like most POD prints sold elsewhere. Even with dog eyes, the print is noticeably smooth and laid on thick.

As for the artwork, this is a bold and straight forward cat design with a great outline by Cattoc_C. There are subtle changes to the fur tones which help imply the softness of the kitty. Yes, the design itself is basic but it is done well and when combined with the lyrics it is actually appropriate, especially since a furry font was used to tie it all together.

This Soft Kitty 2 tee will make a great gift for fans of The Big Bang Theory or cat lovers.

Wear it while watching The Big Bang Theory obviously.

Boss' Cat Tee Design by Ben Chen

Boss’ Cat Tee Design Review.

The Boss' Cat tee is for fans of The Godfather and the Garfield comic strip. This design is a mashup parody and will only be truly appreciated by fans of both franchises and of Garfield specifically. People that only like The Godfather might see this parody as an insult to the masterpiece.

After seeing this, it is no freaking wonder Garfield loves Italian food. Being the prized kitty of a mob boss has its advantages. Jon Arbuckle was just some cartoonist schmuck that tried to hold the fat cat for a fat ransom. It is just too bad that this concept has been done before, more than a few times by many people.

This artwork finds that fine line between realism and cartoon and blurs it nicely. Although, half of Garfield's head should technically be covered in more shadow as to be consistent with the Godfather's head.

Ben Chen drew Garfield in the original comic style and altered the Godfather to match the Garfield comic style. This version is better than others of the same concept.

The Boss' Cat design makes for a fun tee to wear to any casual event. Movie and Pizza nights will never be the same.

Is available on: Tees, Phone Cases and Sweatshirts. Black fabric is mandatory and it works well with this artwork. The original cover art of The Godfather was on a Black background so it is a no brainer. The review breakdown is as follows:

Goldfish of Doom Tee Design by patrickspens

Goldfish of Doom Tee Design Review.

The Goldfish of Doom tee design is for the people with pet goldfish, or that admire mechanized warfare, or people that despise cats. Whatever floats their boat.

Funny stuff patrickspens. This is something that Klaus of Family Guy would do or at least imagine himself doing.

There is a lot going on in this design. Explosions and kitties being blown away, smoldering fires, scurrying cats. This is definitely a tee for the action fans. The artwork is awesome, good enough for a prime time cartoon on a major network. The shading, coloring, and textures are among the best for this style. The somewhat subliminal skull of the battle suit torso is a nice touch as is the detail of the sloshing fishbowl. The maniacal expression of the goldfish is priceless and worth the price of the tee alone.

The only nitpick is that fire in the foreground seems a bit random and out of place compared to the rest of the design.

The Goldfish of Doom design is also available on children's apparel. Even though it shows cartoon violence, hatred of another species and is probably an act of vengeance.

Navy is the only fabric color available which also serves as the line work for the design and complements the orange of the fire, one of the cats and the goldfish nicely. Black could had worked also for the line work as well. The review breakdown is as follows:

Waiting For My Fish Tee Design by NARNIAZ

Waiting For My Fish Tee Design Review.

The Waiting For My Fish tee design is a cat lovers perfect shirt. Done in a surreal art style with an iridescent-like coloring for the fur.

Waiting For My Fish is a cute and playful tee that stands out from countless feline themed shirts. The bold bright colors give this artwork a modern vibe. The space elements of the stars and moon along with the globe-like eyes that lure the viewer in, make this tee seem otherworldly and trippy.

As weird as this tee is, the attention to details and coloring go far beyond what is usually called for a shirt. Where the whiskers overlay the fur to the texture of the ground, NARNIAZ did an outstanding job on those points.

The design does look a little square as the borders do not fade off into the shirt fabric with any subtlety, but it does not have straight edges which is a plus.

This design makes for a great casual shirt to be worn anywhere. Especially, at a cat show.

Is available on: Tees, Phone Cases and Wall Art. Black fabric is mandatory and it works well with this artwork as it can mimic the night sky and provides great contrast. It also provides the color for the shading. The review breakdown is as follows:
