Summary

The Grim Optimism tee design features Death paying a visit to a squirrel that offers him an acorn upon his arrival.

The Grim Optimism tee design focuses around hope and perhaps being naive. The brave squirrel is bargaining, trying a last ditch effort of offering his prized acorn to the all powerful Grim Reaper in hopes that his life will be spared. Something perhaps we can all relate to, after all who wouldn't give up a nut to spare their life or someone that they care deeply about? Even Death is caught off guard by this kind gesture with obvious ulterior motives.

What is really great about this design though, is how Death casts a giant skull as a shadow. A subtle touch that adds an even more Gothic overtone to the piece.

The concept is dark and cute at the same time which is very difficult to pull off even for the most seasoned of artists. That includes the stupid smiling cute skull reapers with heart shapes for eyes. Those are lame. Props to you ramyb.

This artwork is on children's apparel too which is cool as you do not see Death on that many kid items these days as it is normally taboo at least in Western Culture.

Bottom Line

The products and retailer Shirt.Woot are definitely high quality with a better price than most of the other Print On Demand services ($8-11 range). Most of their designs are exclusive. The brand of blanks that they use are generic or non-disclosed. While this is not a big deal, it would be nice to know about the fabric brand and their practices. It would also be nice to have fabric color options. As for the printing method, Digital Print or Direct To Garment (DTG) is good but it will fade sooner than the superior old fashioned screen printing technique. We feel that this Grim Optimism Tee is a worthy purchase and therefore should not result in any buyer’s remorse.
