The Winter Is Here tee design is for the Game of Thrones fans that enjoy the Calvin and Hobbes comics.

The concept is that Calvin is pretending to be in Westeros and him and Hobbes are play battling each other with wooden weapons in front of a White Walker snowman. Calvin is dressed like a Tyrion Lannister and Hobbes is dressed like Jon Snow. There is also a crow or raven in one of the trees so there are plenty of Game of thrones references in this tee.

As for the artwork, the style is emulating Bill Watterson's obviously from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. The colors are appropriate and the fabric color choices for this design work well with the artwork as the negative space is a large part of the design. Such as the base color for the White Walker snowman. The shading is good for the style, even though I think that there should be a shadow on Hobbe's face to match Calvin's and the White Walker's shading. The layout itself is well balanced.

This Winter Is Here tee will make a nice gift for the Game of Thrones fans.

Bottom Line

The products and retailer TeeFizz are definitely high quality with a better price than most of the other Print On Demand services ($18.00 – $20.00 range for Tees for the NEXUS section, and $10 to as low as $8 for their daily deals). Most of the designs can be found elsewhere but the color and print quality may be weak in comparison. The brand of blanks that they use are ANVIL from the samples that I’ve seen. Most shirts are 100% Ring Spun Cotton, the Heather tees are 60% Polyester and 40% Cotton. It is nice to have fabric color options as each design usually has a few choices to choose from, so that is a major plus. The sizes Women’s S -2 XL, Men’s S – 3 XL, Kids S- XL means that most people regardless of gender, age or shape can find something. They only sell tees and one type of tee for each Men/Women/Kids and no other apparel type so the style range is limited. As for the printing method, they use the Digital Print or Direct To Garment (DTG) technique for their daily deals and the Nexus. They know their printing equipment well and know what they are doing with that equipment. This means that their ink is laid on thick and their ink colors are bold and not muted like it is at most (but not all) of their Print On Demand competitors. That is a big deal so the print method gets a 5 star rating, especially when taking the price into consideration. Their design selection at the moment is limited but they are new and growing so that will not be an issue for long. We feel that this Winter Is Here Tee is a worthy purchase and therefore should not result in any buyer’s remorse.
